An Open Letter to Governor Christie in Response to His Explanation of Recent Decisions 10 Sep 2013

Growing Stronger for Your Safety!
Growing Stronger for Your Safety!
Dear Governor Christie,

With all due respect, in the state of New Jersey the average law-abiding individual has no ability to exercise the right to bear arms. That is true even if that individual holds a carry permit anywhere else in this wonderful Nation. If someone lives in a state where they hold a carry permit and they cross the border into New Jersey, they immediately become a felon, unless they are willing to be disarmed. If you happen to reside in New Jersey, you will not be allowed to bear a firearm here no matter how law-abiding or qualified you are, unless you can prove that there is an  immediate threat to your life. How would one prove such a thing? Why is that requirement necessary or even legal?

The purpose of the Second Amendment has little or nothing to do with any of the things you talk about in your response. The purpose of the Second Amendment is to keep the power in the hands of the people, where it belongs in a government of the people, by the people and for the people. The Second Amendment was intended as a warning to all three branches of the United States Government not to infringe of the people’s ability to bear arms against the possibility of Tyranny. That warning protects an individual right as determined by SCOTUS in the Heller decision and was clearly extended to apply against the States in the McDonald decision. While those decisions do allow for reasonable regulations, the exercise of the right to bear arms is effectively banned in the state of New Jersey. That is far from reasonable. The so-called “justifiable need”  requirement disarms all United States citizens who either live in, visit or pass through our beautiful state.

The highest law of this Nation has been ignored and rejected by the government of our state. Eventually, New Jersey will be held accountable for breaking the Federal prohibition against the infringement of the individual right to keep and bear arms. The people of this Nation will remember those who either neglected to take the opportunity to correct this abrogation of our freedom or who tackled it head on. I hope that you will make the correct decision.  I hope I will still be around to remind them.

Most Sincerely,

Frank Jack Fiamingo

Frank, your asking for help from the wrong person. Governor Christie only uses the law to bully those into doing what he wants. When the law gets in his way, he simply ignores it knowing by the time the violation gets to and/or through the courts he will have already accomplished his objective. Spending public money to advance himself any way he can is not a problem to him. It's most likely the reason he'll never let the public be armed either.

Yes, I understand that our governor does not trust the people of the United States to keep and bear arms. This is a problem for someone who has aspirations for National office. Unfortunately, the precedent has been set. Practically the entire Obama administration is anti-rights. Our current Attorney General would disarm Americans in LESS than a heartbeat if he believed it was possible. The ONLY thing keeping them FROM disarming us is THAT we are armed. We need to make sure that we continue to support the RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS or their will be nothing to prevent a rogue government from becoming even MORE tyrannical than it already is.

Well the shooting/Murder rates certainly bear out one thing. That criminals/tugs and gangs don't respect the NJ Laws! In light of these DAILY newspaper reports our poor excuse of the NJ Legislature put EVERY citizen at risk, knowing the law abiding citizen is un armed and defenseless! Why wouldn't one of the founding signers of the declaration of Independence (NJ) not follow the U.S.Constitution? I think it's a matter of time before a shooting victim in the great state will sue the State of New Jersey, for the denial of our "God Given Right" to defend ourselves. They date to fire this control freaks, aka Progressive Liberals is fast approaching. Fire them Now! They do not represent their constitutes! They have an insatiable hunger for power!

Thanks for your comments Mac and John. It is up to us not only to vote, but to support good Constitutional candidates and to work for and contribute to their campaigns. This upcoming U.S. Senate race is CRITICAL. We must get Steve Lonegan into that seat if we expect to stop the gun grabbers and the control-freaks from gaining any further control of the U.S. Senate. I hope everyone will take a step out of their comfort zone and start working fore his campaign. He needs people to make phone calls. You can register at our site to get involved.
