Harold E. Sprague, 79, of Manahawkin passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at 2 am. at Arcadia Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Little Egg Harbor.
Harold was born in Manahawkin and raised his family there. He worked for many years in excavating and construction; his last years of employment were with Napa Automotive Parts Delivery in Manahawkin.
Harold was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Janet Cummings Sprague on May 6, 2014; his parents, Herbert Sprague and Elsie Letts Sprague and sister, Gladys Van Houten.
Surviving are his children, son, Gary H. Sprague and his wife Joan (nee Redmond) and daughter, Tracy I. Smith and her husband Edward O. Smith. He was a cherished grandfather to Meghan, Tyler and Gary Sprague and his wife Crystal, also Jillian I. Carey and her husband Christopher Carey and Samantha F. Sprague and great-grandfather to Aurora B. Carey. He is also survived by his stepbrother, Herbert Sprague and stepsisters, Alice, Julie and Lillian Sprague. Harold was always loving and caring to his family and friends.
