OCEAN COUNTY HUNGER RELIEF

NEWLY HOUSED HOMELESS PROGRAM

The city of Lakewood has agreed to find housing and pay rent for one year for those residents of Tent City who were living there when a census was taken. That process has begun, and will hopefully allow these people to have a better quality of life.

However, there is a great need for your support NOW to help provide food, furniture, cleaning supplies, toiletries, dishes, pots and pans, silverware, bathroom supplies, etc. -- everything that is necessary to turn housing into a home. We are trying to secure many of these items through donations. However, as residents are now moving in, immediate financial support is required.

Once basic needs of newly housed homeless individuals have been met, there are plans in place to help them with applying for benefits they may be entitled to, medical care, counseling, education, job training, etc. so that when their leases are up they will be in a better position to stay out of homelessness.

Ocean County Hunger Relief is a recognized 50l (C)3 charitable organization. Donations made are tax deductible. Please make checks payable to Ocean County Hunger Relief -- Homeless Program and mail to 21 Germainia Station Road, Toms River, New Jersey, 08753.
