Southern Boys & Girls Soccer Senior Athletes honored

Congratulations to SRHS Senior Soccer players Chris Reed and Jenna Ritchie on winning the 2013 (SSOA) Shore Soccer Official Association Rusty Rizzitello Boys and Girls Senior Excellence Award. These awards are presented to a male and female varsity soccer player from Ocean County whose varsity soccer coach has recommended him and her as their team's best example of a scholar athlete. According to their coaches, Chris' and Jenna's actions both on the field and off of the field of soccer, successfully have demonstrated their strong leadership qualities that their teammates and others look to for support. In addition through their community service, both Chris and Jenna have provided personal support to their community's needs. The two seniors were honored at a banquet on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Hemmingway’s Café in Seaside Heights, NJ. Chris and Jenna also received a $250.00 academic grant from the SSOA. This marks the 1st time in the history of the award, from the SSOA, that both the male and female athlete winners are from the same school. Congratulations to Chris and Jenna.
