Though no one was injured in the incident, another child was in the home at the time of the incident, in addition to the 10 year-old who ran to neighbors' to call the police. The homeowner was left bound on the floor of the home.

The two men "ransacked the home," Mazza said, then fled on foot. Brick Police extensively searched the area, using K-9 officers and assistance from Wall and Point Pleasant Boro police.

Neighbors in the quiet neighborhood were upset to learn of the violent intrusion. "I've been here 38 years, we've never had anything like this happening here," said neighbor Iris Chiesa, according to WNBC-TV

"I need to lock my doors tonight, that's what it makes me think," said another neighbor, Jim Hicks, according to WNBC-TV.

Ishawn David Redd, of Allenhurst Avenue in Neptune Township, was arrested and charged for defiant trespass and hindering apprehension after he was found lying on the ground, hiding in a backyard on Main Avenue. Police said the trespass appears unrelated.

No charges have been filed for the Montclair Avenue incident as of yet. Mazza said the investigation is still very much underway.

He said police are looking for proceeds from the home invasion, including clothing or other items that may have been dropped in backyards as the suspects fled. Police are asking anyone who finds suspicious items to come forward.
