Autopsy Results Pending On Manahawkin Man Found Dead In Home
Victim was using a kerosene heater in his enclosed bedroom, police say

Stafford police and the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office are investigating the death of a Privateer Road man found dead in his home early today.
Police were called to the home at 1:41 a.m. on a report of an unconscious man and kerosene fumes within the house.
They found Robert M. Pasterchick, 42, unconscious and not breathing on the floor. The home had been partially ventilated before police arrived.
Officers performed CPR on Pasterchick, which other officers fully ventilated the home by opening doors and windows, police said.
Pasterchick was transported to Southern Ocean Medical Center and pronounced deceased at 2:28 a.m., police said.
Pasterchick was operating a kerosene heater in his enclosed bedroom at the time of his death. The exact cause of death is pending an autopsy which is scheduled for later this afternoon, police said.
The Stafford Township Police Department, Stafford Township EMS, Stafford Township Volunteer Fire Company, the Ocean County Prosecutors Office and Ocean County Sheriff's Department Criminal Investigations Unit responded.
