Barnegat Fire Company Members Free Man Trapped Under Tractor

By Patricia A. Miller

A Waretown man who was trapped when a tractor overturned late this afternoon suffered injuries to his ankle and was taken to Southern Ocean Medical Center, police said.

When Barnegat police arrived at the house at 62 Pacific Avenue, they found 55-year-old Donald Lacey trapped under a Kubota tractor, Lt. Keith Germain said.

Lacey had been working on a septic system at the address when the tractor he was operating overturned at 4:35 p.m., Germain said.

Barnegat Volunteer Fire Company members responded and used airbags to lift the tractor and extricate Lacey. Lacey was treated by members of the Barnegat Volunteer First Aid Squad and transported to Southern Ocean Medical Center with injuries to his left ankle, police said.
