Barnegat Man Busted On Crack Cocaine Charges

A Barnegat man has been arrested on crack possession charges, police said.

On Jan. 18th at 1 a.m., Patrolman Robert Armstrong arrested Tyquan Melvin, 26, of Barnegat on drug charges after responding to a call of a possible burglary. 

Armstrong was dispatched to the area of 39 Lowershore Road after a caller observed a male subject punching and pushing on the exterior door of the residence. Upon arriving on Lowershore Road, Ptl. Armstrong observed Melvin walking away from the porch of the residence. 

Armstrong made contact with Melvin and during the course of his investigation discovered that Melvin was in possession of crack cocaine and marijuana. Melvin was placed under arrest and was ultimately charged with possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana. He was lodged in the Ocean County Jail in default of $25,000 bail.
