Stafford police have charged a Morris Boulevard man with criminal mischief after a Labor Day weekend incident at the Bank of America on Route 72 East.
John W. Tyrone II, 59, Morris Boulevard, was arrested shortly after the incident, police said.
Police responded to a security alarm at the bank at 8:59 p.m. on Aug. 31. They found the glass screen to the outdoor ATM was shattered and the teller window damaged
The officers spoke with bank security personnel on the phone. They described a white male with a heavy mustache in his 50s, wearing a black T-shirt and jeans. The surveillance video also showed the man holding a rock in his hand.
Police located Tyrone shortly after receiving the information and arrested him. The investigation is ongoing, police said.
