Barnegat police recently charged a township man with drunk driving after they responded to a report of an erratic driver on Route 9, Lt. Keith Germain said.
The anonymous caller reported on July 7 that a black GMC Envoy was driving erratically and gave police a partial license plate number. Patrolman Chris Ebert responded and was able to locate the vehicle on Freedom Hills Drive, he said.
Ebert arrested Brett Podinker, 48, of Barnegat and charged him with driving under the influence and reckless driving, Germain said.
Podinker's vehicle was impounded for 12 hours in accordance with John's Law, he said.
