Barnegat Man Handed Summonses After Route 9 Accident In Lacey

Paul Shook was charged with four motor vehicle summonses after striking a utility pole on Route 9 last week, leaving approximately 840 locals without power.

The Barnegat man involved with the that caused a power outage for approximately 840 JCP&L Lacey customers as well as Oyster Creek Generating Station last week was handed four motor vehicle summonses, police said. 

At approximately 6:15 a.m. Thursday, June 14, a 2002 Dodge Dakota pickup operated by Paul Shook, 28, struck a utility pole on Route 9’s northbound shoulder in Lacey, police said.

Shook was taken to Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin after complaining of chest pains. He was later charged with driving while suspended, failure to maintain lane, careless driving and failure to present an insurance card, polie said.

The owner of the vehicle Patricia Davino, 42, of Barnegat was issued a summons for allowing a suspended driver to operate the car.
