Man Indicted in Stafford Molestation Case

Ocean County grand jury hands up indictments

A Little Egg Harbor man has been indicted in connection with a series of sexual assaults on a child in Stafford and in Long Beach townships between 2005 and 2010.

John M. Cibelli, 45, was indicted on a count of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child between July 21, 2005 and July 20, 2010. The child was between 7 and 12 years old at the time Cibelli is alleged to have committed the assault. He is alleged to have sexually penetrated the child.

Cibelli is being held in the Ocean County Jail, Toms River, in lieu of $150,000 bail, no 10 percent option.

Also indicted by the grand jury:

  • Joshua J. Walton of Barnegat, on a count of third-degree theft of services, for allegedly using a room at the Sea Horse Motel in Long Beach Township between Aug. 16, 2011 and Aug. 30, 2011, without paying for the room. He was released on $5,000 bail, no 10 percent, on April 12.
  • Brad T. Adams, Ship Bottom, on four counts each of third-degree burglary and third-degree theft, in Stafford, Harvey Cedars and Eagleswood, on Dec. 20, Dec. 28, Dec. 31 and Jan. 12. Additionally Adams and Michael V. Bridger, of Eagleswood, were each indicted on a count of third-degree dealing in stolen property on Dec. 28 in Tuckerton, for allegedly trafficking in items stolen on that date in Stafford. Bridger also was indicted on a count of fourth-degree possession of a prohibited weapon, a stun gun, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance, heroin, both in Eagleswood on Jan. 19. In the same indictment, Darrin Klumpp of Old Bridge was indicted on a count of third-degree receiving stolen property, for allegedly accepting a television stolen from a Harvey Cedars home, on Jan. 19 in Eagleswood. Adams is being held in the Ocean County Jail in lieu of $60,000 bail, no 10 percent. Bridger was released on his own recognizance on Feb. 2, and Klumpp was released on a summons.
  • Douglas M. Gifford Jr. of Seaside Heights, on a count of third-degree shoplifting, for allegedly taking a television from Wal-Mart on Dec. 29 in Stafford. Gifford was released on a summons.
  • Jason R. Somerville, Jonathan M. DeCicco and James K. Ciani, all of Barnegat, on a count of third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance, oxycodone, and possession with intent to distribute, on Feb. 2 in Barnegat. Additionally, Somerville and Ciani were indicted on distribution of a controlled dangerous substance. Ciani was indicted on a charge of false implication, for allegedly giving false information implicating another man in criminal activities, and fourth-degree hindering apprehension. Somerville also was indicted on a count of hindering apprehension or prosecution. All three were released on summonses.
  • David M. Rivera of Manahawkin, on a count of third-degree aggravated assault, for allegedly doing significant bodily injury to another person identified only as N.P.  He was released on $15,000 bail, no 10 percent, on March 29 and ordered to have no contact with the victim.
  • Robert W. Guiendon of Margate, on one count of third-degree burglary, between July 21, 2010 and July 23, 2010, in Barnegat. Bail in the case was set at $7,500, no 10 percent. Guiendon is currently being held in state prison.
  • James C. Tyger of Barnegat, on a count of fourth-degree aggravated assault, for allegedly throwing a bodily fluid at Manchester Patrolman Steven Wendruff, on June 28 in Lakehurst. He is being held in lieu of $25,000 bail, no 10 percent option.
  • Thomas J. Rikeman of Barnegat, on one count of third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance, heroin, on Jan. 7 in Waretown. He was released on a summons.
