Barnegat man arrested for reckless driving in Settlers Landing
A Barnegat policeman on a foot patrol arrested a local resident, who had been driving drunk through Settlers Landing late Saturday evening, according to the latest police report.
Patrolman Nicholas Dapuzzo arrested George Pfeiffer Jr., 47, of Barnegat for DWI on May 12th at 10 p.m.
Dapuzzo was walking through the Lexington Boulevard area with another officer when he observed Pfeiffer Jr.'s vehicle being operated at a high rate of speed and with a loud muffler, police said.

"Dapuzzo signaled Pfeiffer Jr. to stop and was able to determine during the ensuing contact that Pfeiffer was impaired due to alcohol," according to the report.
Pfeiffer was processed and released with summonses for DWI, reckless driving, loud exhaust, failure to wear seat belt, and driving without a license.
