Barnegat Police Issue Silver Alert For Missing Elderly Man

East Bay Avenue man in early stages of Alzheimer Disease, police say


Barnegat police asking for the public's help in locating a 77-year-old township man who went missing at noon on Tuesday.

Werner Dirr, East Bay Avenue, is suffering from the early stages of AlzheimerDisease and was last seen when he left his home at today. He was driving a green 2004 Kia Sedona with a New Jersey license plat YLJ63T, Lt. Keith Germain said.

Dirr was last seen wearing a green plaid jacket, blue plaid shirt, khaki pants, brown leather shoes, and a gray baseball cap. He was also wearing glasses.
 
Barnegat Police have submitted Mr. Dirr's information to the New Jersey State Police Regional Operations and Intelligence Center (ROIC) for a Silver Alert broadcast.

Anyone who sees Dirr or his vehicle is asked to call police at 609-698-5000.
