Barnegat Police Provide Year-End Report

Police responded to more than 11,000 calls for service.

Officials with the Barnegat Police Department today provided an overview of their 2012 activities, which contains information regarding officer response statistics with respect to citizen-generated calls for service as well as officer-initiated and agency-directed activity.

During 2012, the Barnegat Police Department responded to more than 11,000 calls for service, according to a statement from Lt. Keith Germain.

The statement noted that township police conducted more than 7,000 checks of schools, banks, and businesses, 5,000 checks of special assignment areas, 5,400 traffic stops, and nearly 700 radar enforcement details.

Officers also made over 700 arrests and filed over 700 investigative reports.

Officers responded to 1,669 first aid calls, 885 alarms, 481 motor vehicle accidents, 197 domestic violence calls, and 178 fire calls.
