Beach Haven Firefighters, Police Douse House Fire

No one injured in Sunday night blaze

Beach Haven borough firefighters and police officers put out a house fire on 17th Street in North Beach Haven on Sunday.

The 8:50 p.m. fire burnt the home's kitchen, officials said. The borough's fire company, in a statement, credited police officers who arrived at the scene first with helping to contain the blaze using fire extinguishers.

Firefighters finished the job by running a line into the home, putting out the fire and then ventilating the residence, the company said.

"Quick work from all involved stopped this from being worse," the statement said.

No one was injured in the fire, which is currently under investigation by the Ocean County Fire Marshall's office.
