Update: Minor Chimney Fire Extinguished At Barnegat Boulevard Home

No injuries in Sunday night fire

Township firefighters responded to a chimney fire at 92 Barnegat Boulevard around 11 p.m. Sunday night.

The fire was relatively minor and resulted in no injuries, according to Barnegat Police Lieutenant Keith Germain.

The fire extended to the exterior of the residence in what appeared to be the roof.

An aerial truck from Stafford Station 47 also responded to the scene, according to reports.

The house, a two-story colonial-style dwelling, remained habitable, according to Germain.
