The Coast Guard crew at Station Barnegat Light has taken to YouTube to demonstrate some of the heavy surf training footage they have been doing off the coast of Long Beach Island in recent months.
"As the video shows, there aren't many Surfmen in the Coast Guard," said Petty Officer Nick Ameen. "The Coast Guard is diverse and has many missions, some of which are far less known than others. We wanted to highlight the artful skill and high level of proficiency these boat handlers possess."
Ameen said he envisions this to be the first in a series of videos highlighting the work of local Coast Guard crews.
