This was a great event and fund raiser. All the food was good but Marchioni's wings were voted the best. I hope they have it again next year and more people come to have a great time.

Fund raising is good. Interesting that in the prior Patch Article from December 2011 (linked above), it states that the new equipment is coming from the $2.1 million Emergency Srvcs bond. It also states in that prior article that the new ladder truck was going to cost $900,000.00, PLUS an additional $300,000 for new fire fighting equipment. Did Barnegat get a better deal on the new ladder truck - or are there contradictions with the actual costs expended from the fund for all this new stuff? $300,000.00 for (6) new Police Explorers - and we assume the current fleet was exhausted past their expected fleet lifespan to warrant (6) brand new vehicles? Really? Is the Twp going to purchase anything else with the remaining funds? Like maybe an elevated tower at lower shore road to record and broadcast all of the sports events that will take place after the new freebie (oh, soooooo free) turf is properly installed by free working volunteers and all of the free donated materials and free equipment being used to do the install

Nice new firetruck. I'm sure it will look great in parades and at the Fireman's Convention in Wildwood.
