Girl Struck While Crossing West Bay Ave. on Bike

Saturday night accident sent juvenile to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, say police

The Barnegat Township Police Department is investigating a car-versus-bike accident that sent a girl to the hospital Saturday night.

A female juvenile was crossing West Bay Avenue at Lighthouse Drive on her bike at 9:59 p.m. when she was struck by a car driven by Kyle Marsh, 23, of Beach Haven, said Barnegat Police Sgt. Ed Smith.

The girl was in the crosswalk heading in the direction of First Street when she was struck by Marsh, who was traveling west, said Smith, who noted that West Bay Avenue is five lanes wide at that intersection.
