Indictment: Barnegat Woman Assaulted Resident With Tire Iron

Grand juries hand up indictments

A Barnegat woman is free on bail after being arrested on assault and weapon charges.

Susan Szabo, 49, was indicted last week by an Ocean County grand jury on charges including aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Szabo was arrested Jan. 6 in the township and accused of using a tire iron to assault a Barnegat resident, the indictment states.

She posted $15,000 bail on Feb. 18 and is forbidden contact with the alleged victim while she's free.

  • A Galloway man and Manahawkin woman on drug charges.

Ronald Pisaniello, 31, of Colonial Court, Galloway, and Malissa M. Shirley of Route 9, Manahawkin, were each accused of two counts of possession after being arrested Oct. 14 and accused of having oxycodone and alprazolam.

Pisaniello also was indicted on additional possession, possession with intent to distribute and distribution charges for allegedly having hydrocodone in his possession as well as selling oxycodone, the indictment states.

Both were released on summonses.

  • Prashant A. Patel of Carriage Way, Barnegat on drug charges.

Patel, 37, was arrested Aug. 11 in Stafford and accused of possessing synthetic marijuana with the intent to sell it.

He was released on a summons.
