Investigations Result in Four Drug Arrests

A SWAT team raided a Village Drive home last week, leading to the arrest of a township man for heroin distribution

Four young men from Barnegat were arrested in the last two weeks in two unrelated drug busts, police said today in a press release.

After a two-month investigation by township police, the county SWAT team executed a search warrant at a Village Drive residence on the evening of Tuesday, Feb. 7, where they found Edward Jackson Jr., 26, with oxycodone and heroin, according to Lt. Keith Germain of the Barnegat Township Police.

Jackson was charged with possession of oxycodone, possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to distribute and ditribution of heroin, all third-degree charges, Germain said. He was processed and released pending a future court date.

The week before, on Thursday, Feb. 2, police were in the area of Bayberry Court off Ravenwood Boulevard when they saw three men engaged in "suspicious activity," said Germain.

After investigating, police arrested Jonathan Decicco, 24, James Ciani, 19 and Jason Somerville, 21, for third-degree posession of oxycodone and third-degree posession of oxycodone with intent to distribute, Germain said.

The three suspects were also processed and released pending a court date.
