A Jackson Township has been arrested in connection with two stabbings on The Boulevard in Seaside Heights last weekend, Seaside Heights Detective Steven Korman said.

Mark McCaffrey, 34, Ollie Berk Road, turned himself in at the Ocean County Justice Complex in Toms River at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.

McCaffrey has been charged with attempted murder in connection with the stabbing of a 31-year-old Toms River man, aggravated assault with a weapon on a 24-year-old Lanoka Harbor man, two counts of possession of a weapon, two counts of possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes and one count of certain persons not to be in possession of a weapon, Korman said.

The arrest and charges stem from an incident on Sumner Avenue and the Boulevard shortly after 3 a.m. last Saturday.

McCaffrey was arguing with his girlfriend when both victims attempted to intervene on her behalf. Korman then stabbed the 31-year-old man in the abdomen and the Lanoka Harbor man in the bicep, Korman said.

McCaffrey is lodged in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River in lieu of $250,000 bail, with no ten percent option, he said.

Seaside Heights Detectives Luigi Violente and Justin Heffernan investigated.
