LBI Area Floods; Water On Long Beach Boulevard, Road Closures Near Causeway

Flooding hit Long Beach Island area as the region dealt with the after effects of the nor'easter.

Long Beach Boulevard was flooded around 88th Street, and the road was down to one lane in each direction.

Central Avenue at the causeway inbound, by Wawa is closed.

Surf City police have announced the closure of Barnegat Avenue between N. 4th and N. 7th streets due to tidal flooding. The department said in a statement that it also expects closures at the time of high tide Thursday night, at 9:53 p.m. on the bayside.

RAISE THE PROPERTY TAXES ON THE HOMEOWNERS OF LBI... MOST OF THEM ARE VACATION HOMES AND THEY CAN CERTAINLY AFFORD THE INCREASE!!!

Yeah right. We don't pay enough, we are all rich!! Lol Maybe we should raise taxes for people who come to play on the island!

You got that right, I also agree the users from the mainland should pay a special fee, as LBI property owners pay 80+% of the Southern Regional School District. Some LBI towns send very few students and yet pay huge per student school tax fees. Take a look at what the mayor and council in Stafford spend every month??? IN THE MILLIONS WITH VERY LITTLE OR ZERO EXPLANATION ...
