Stafford Township' police are reporting that Route 72 is open and clear after a major gas leak on Route 72 near the Route 9 overpass last night.
A construction crew struck a six-inch natural gas line on Route 72. Traffic on Route 72 westbound was detoured into Barnegat Township for several hours, police said.
