UPDATE: Manahawkin Man Faces Drunk Driving, Motor Vehicle Charges

Another drunk driving arrest has taken place on Route 9.

Stafford police recently charged a Janal Lane man with driving while under the influence and other motor vehicle offenses after a stop in the early morning hours of Jan. 18.

Patrolman John Morrin stopped Jeffrey Lange, 47, at 1:53 p.m. on Route 9 North, after he pulled him over for driving an unregistered vehicle, according to the police report.

Morrin determined during the stop that Lange was under the influence of alcohol. He was charged with DWI after field sobriety tests, police said.

He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and later released to his fiance. He was also charged with reckless driving, driving an unregistered vehicle and failure to produce a valid insurance card.

The car was impounded, as per John's Law.

A court hearing is pending in Stafford Township Municipal Court.
