MANAHAWKIN POLICE REPORT: Heroin Possession, Two Accidents, Outstanding Warrants

Two accidents on Route 72

A 21-year-old Tuckerton woman was charged wih heroin possession after she was arrested Tuesday for shoplifting at Kmart on Route 72, police said.

Brittany M. Russano was arrested at 9:17 p.m. and transported to poice headquarters. There, oficers found several bags containing "a residual white powder substance indicative of heroin" in her possession," police said.

Russano was also charged with shoplifting and later released pending a future court appearance at the Stafford Township Municipal Court.

No one was injured Monday when two vehicles collided on Route 72, police said.

An Investigation revealed that a 2011 Hyundai, driven by 18-year-old Mikaela Kosich of Cedar Run, did not stop in time and struck a 2004 Toyota pickup, police said.

The pickup truck was driven by John Nutaitis, 52, of Medford and was struck in the rear bumper at 11:03 a.m. The Hyundai was towed due to extensive front end damage, police said.

A 32-year-old Manahawkin man was arrested Tuesday after he was found to have an active warrant out of Barnegat.

At 11:30 a.m., Stafford Township Police performed a motor vehicle stop in the area of Mill Creek Road and Albert Drive. Upon investigation, polce determined that Michael Abernathy, a passenger, had an active warrant, police said.

Abernathy was then placed under arrest and transported to Stafford Township police headquarters. There, Abernathy was processed and subsequently released after receiving a future court date in Barnegat Township.

No one was apparently injured Friday when two cars collided on Route 72 westbound, near the intersection with Mill Creek road, police said.

An investigation revealed that Susan T. Lamoreaux Ballanc of Basking Ridge collided her 2011 Jeep into the rear of a 2010 Toy minivan after she failed to stop in time, police said.

Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and had to be towed from the scene. Lamoreaux Ballanc was issued a summons for careless driving, police said.

A Ridgewood man was arrested Saturday on two outstanding warrants, police said.

Richard P. Holzberg of Ridgewood was arrested on warrants issued by the Ridgewood and Paramus municipal courts in the amount of $590.

Holzberg was processed at police headquarters and later released after satisfying bail, police said.
