Manahawkin Police Report: Woman Charged With Driving While Under the Influence

Arrest followed accident at gas station

Stafford police have arrested and charged a 25-year-old Manahawkin woman of driving under the influence, following a collision at the Sunoco gas station.

Jennifer L. Terefenko allegedly rear-ended a car that was being fueled. Both the car, operated by John P. Navarro, 45, of Manahawkin, and the 1999 Ford truck that Terefenko was driving sustained minor damage, police said. No injuries were reported.


According to police, an investigation concluded Terefenko was operating her motor vehicle while under the influence. Terefenko also had an outstanding warrant out of Bass River, NJ, which was issued by State Police. 
 
Terefenko was processed then released to a family member after being issued numerous motor vehicle summons.
 
Also this weekend, Stafford police arrested Daniel Grillo, 40, of Newark, on an active warrant out of Irvington. Grillo was processed and released after posting bail. He is pending a future court date in Irvington.

On Saturday, Stafford Township police, with the assistance of the Tuckerton Police Department, arrested Anthony L. Evens Jr., of Barnegat Township on nine outstanding warrants, including: Stafford Township in the amount of $2500, Little Egg Harbor Township in the amount of $808, Barnegat Township in the amount of $500, Lakehurst in the amount of $1039, Brick Township in the amount of $500, Lacey Township in the amount of $1000 and three from the NJ State Police out of Bass River with the total amount of $1558. Mr. Evens was processed and transported to the Ocean County Jail because he was unable to post bail.  

On Sunday, Stafford Township police arrested Fortino Cespedes at his Manahawkin residence, under the strength of an Ocean County Sheriff’s Department warrant in the amount of $41,333.85 for civil contempt.  Mr. Cespedes was processed at police headquarters and released to the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department because he could not post bail.
