Manahawkin Woman 'Falls Out' Of Vehicle After Collision With Lacey Driver's Car

One person was injured when two cars collided in Manahawkin on Wednesday - with the victim falling out of her car after the incident, police said.

According to police:

On 3/5/14 Stafford Police responded to a tw- vehicle accident at the intersection of Lighthouse Dr. and Rudder Ave. According to witnesses, a black Jeep operated by Katlyn Forsyth of the Lanoka Harbor section of Lacey Twp. failed to stop at a stop sign on Rudder Ave.

A second vehicle driven by Sandra Benner of Manahawkin was travelling on Lighthouse Dr and could not avoid striking the first vehicle. The accident was initially dispatched as a driver being ejected from a vehicle; an investigation at the scene revealed that Benner, the driver of the second vehicle had fallen out of her vehicle when she opened the door.

Benner was transported to the Southern Ocean Hospital with neck, back and chest pain. Forsyth was issued a motor vehicle summons. Both vehicles were towed away from the scene, traffic was detoured for approximately 45 mins.K9 Officer Robert Conforti is the Investigating Officer.
