Missed It? Man Charged In Barnegat For $15,000 In Warrants, Hindering

A 25-year-old man was recently charged with hindering apprehension as well as having nearly $15,000 in warrants.

On Nov. 12 at 5:42pm, Patrolman Ed Hayes had first made contact with Michael Alleman Jr. of Little Egg Harbor after a traffic stop.

At that time, Alleman gave Hayes a false name and information, providing Hayes with the name, date of birth, and other identifying information of a Michael Mathis. Hayes issued two summonses to Alleman on that date in Mathis's name, police said.

Mathis later became aware of the incident when he discovered that summonses had been issued in his name. Mathis provided Hayes with Alleman information as Alleman had apparently used Mathis's name in the past, police said

Hayes was then on routine patrol when he observed Alleman Jr. operating a motor vehicle on Beverly Drive. Hayes stopped Alleman Jr's car and placed him under arrest for hindering apprehension. Alleman also had a $14,608 child support warrant out of the Ocean County Sheriffs Department and a $171 contempt of court warrant out of Barnegat.

Alleman was charged with hindering apprehension and was issued multiple motor vehicle summonses. He was lodged in the Ocean County Jail in default of bail.
