77-Year-Old Barnegat Man With Alzheimer's Disease Found In South Brunswick

Barnegat Township police cancel Silver Alert

Barnegat Township reports that the Silver Alert issued earlier today for a missing 77-year-old Barnegat man has been cancelled.

Anthony Granese, 77, of the Mirage development in Barnegat, was located in his car in South Brunswick about an hour ago, according to police scanner reports.

The alert was issued yesterday. Granese had last been seen at Island Beach State Park at 4:30 p.m., when he approached a Berkeley Township police officer looking for directions to the southbound Garden State Parkway.

Granese originally left his Barnegat residence at 1:30 p.m. Saturday to travel to a store in Manahawkin, but was not reported missing to the Barnegat Police Department until 5:30 p.m.

Granese was driving a silver 2003 Toyota Camry, with New Jersey license plate SK782N.
