UPDATE: Police Identify 45-Year-Old Waretown Man Who Died In Motorcycle Crash

Donald Harrington died after he was thrown from his motorcycle; police are investigating

A 45-year-old man was killed in a crash on Route 9 in Waretown Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Donald Harrington of Waretown was pronounced dead at the scene, said Ocean Township Patrolman Steven Mandarine.

The accident took place at Clearwater Drive and Route 9, which was closed for five hours afterward, police said.

The motorcycle struck a 2004 Ford Taurus that was attempting to make a left turn, police said.

The motorcyclist was thrown from his bike and struck an SUV traveling south on Route 9.

The driver of the Ford Taurus, 47-year-old Frederick Hochstrasser of Waretown, and the SUV, 79-year-old Andrew Marshall of Barnegat, were not injured.

An investigation is continuing, police said.
