No More Donations Needed in Stafford, Emergency Management Officials Say

Southern Regional evacuation center closed today.

Today, as the Southern Regional evacuation center closed, and the last of its temporary residents were moved to Pineland, Stafford Township Office of Emergency Management (OEM), Police Department and Recreation Department officials asked that people hold on to their donations.

"(We) are overwhelmed with the outpouring of support we have received from our community in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy," Stafford emergency management personnel wrote in a press release. "Many residents of our beloved Stafford community were directly affected by the storm and will continue to need our support for a long time to come. We ask that your generous donations be held at this time. We will notify the media when your further support is needed, especially through the Holiday Season, winter months and into the future as our neighbors rebuild their lives. At this time, however, all of our available resources are at capacity with donations. As such, we ask that all donations cease at this time."

Any and ALL requests for items that will be needed will come directly from the Stafford Township Storm Relief Center (SRC) located at 775 E. Bay Ave., Manahawkin, NJ. They can be found on Facebook at: www.facebook.com/StaffordTwpStormReliefCenter
