Outpouring of Support for Barnegat Couple Who Lost Home in Fire

Retired firefighter collects clothes for couple

Calls and offers of help flowed in today to Matthew Lightbody, who is coordinating a collection of clothes and other items for the young Barnegat couple who lost their home to a grease fire Sunday night.

Matt Lightbody, who served as a lieutenant in the township’s fire department, said this collection - his 17th  - will go to help William Adamczyk, 25, and Jennifer Shiavo, 24. P

Lightbody said that he has been doing the collections for years, and he is always thrilled with the outpouring of support from the community. "This community is fantastic," Lightbody said. "You can really see the good in people."

He noted that Jennifer is six months pregnant, so is looking for matenity clothes. She wears a size 5 shoe. Adamczyk wears a size 34 pant, and wears size extra large shirts and a size 13 wide shoe.
