Patient In Ambulance Punches EMS Worker In Face

Raymond A. Jachowski arrested after he was treated at Southern Ocean Medical Center



Stafford police have charged a Little Egg Harbor man with aggravated assault after he punched an EMS technician during an ambulance ride to Southern Ocean Medical Center.

Police were called to the area of Route 72 and the Garden State Parkway on July 5 to help medical personnel with a combative patient, according to the police report.

Raymond A. Jachowski was being transported after he suffered a facial lacerations during a fall in Little Egg Harbor. When police arrived, they saw Jachowski strike an EMS technician in the face with a closed fist in the back of the ambulance, police said.

Jachowski was restrained for the rest of the ride and treated and released at the medical center.

Officer Robert MacFarlane arrested him and charged him with one count of aggravated assault on an emergency medical technician. Jachowski was   taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River in lieu of $7,500 bail, according to the police report.
