Police Blotter: Drugs, DWI And Cell Phone Theft

The latest police news from the area.

Here are reports of recent arrests released by the local police:

May 17:

Patrolman Jeremy Samuel of Ocean Township Police Department arrested a Barnegat resident, Andrew Urso, 26 last Thursday on a charge of possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The arrest occured following a motor vehicle stop, according to a press release from the Ocean Township PD.

Urso was processed and released on bail pending court.

May 15:

Patrolman Timothy Bradshaw arrested Andrew Lamanna, 27, of Barnegat on a DWI charge after stopping Lamanna's vehicle on West Bay Avenue for speeding and failure to maintain lane at 6:38 p.m. last Tuesday.

Lamanna was processed and released with summonses for DWI, reckless driving, speeding, failure to maintain lane, and failure to wear seatbelt.

May 9:

Police accused a Barnegat resident of stealing a smart phone from a local eatery almost three weeks ago.

On Thursday May 3, Detective Maryann Cirulli arrested Chad Andolina, 39, of Barnegat on a fourth-degree theft charge in connection with a Blackberry smart phone that went missing from Dolce Bagel and Pizza Cafe on Thursday, May 3.

The victim contacted Barnegat police and reported that she had left her cell phone on the counter at the establishment and found it missing when she returned to retrieve it.

Andolina was identified as a suspect by officers after they viewed video surveillance footage from the establishment.

Andolina was arrested and charged on Wednesday, May 9, then processed and released with charges for theft.
