Recent arrests in Barnegat

The Barnegat Township Police Department and the Ocean County Sheriff's Department recently released the following items:

Thursday, Oct. 13: Brian Keane, 42, of Hillside Drive was arrested by Sheriff’s Detectives M. Groesch and C. Gentile on an Ocean County Superior Court Warrant for failure to pay child support in the amount of $61,100. Keane was processed and lodged in the Ocean County Jail pending first appearance.

Tuesday, Oct. 25: Thomas E. Beers, 26, of Denville Street was arrested by Sheriff’s Detectives K. Allmann and M. Petrucelli on three warrants out of Ocean County Superior Court: One  for failure to appear on original charges of criminal attempt, one for unlawful taking and one for failure to appear on original charges of possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Beers was processed and lodged in the Ocean County Jail with no option of bail.

Saturday, Oct. 30: At 1 a.m., Ptl. Alex  Hoffman arrested Walter Rutzler Jr., 51, of Barnegat for DWI after stopping Rutzler's vehicle on South Seas Court for failing to maintain lane of travel and failing to signal a turn. Rutzler was charged with DWI, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane and failure to signal turn. He was processed and released.
