Police Blotter: Two Barnegat Teens And Three Children Accused Of Theft, Trespassing
In two separate cases, Barnegat police arrested five juveniles this month
Barnegat Township Police made several arrests of juveniles in the last few weeks, according to the latest police reports.
Last week, a 14-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy were arrested for stealing electrical wire from a residence. During the week prior, a teen, acting with two younger boys, broke into a shed behind the Lillian M. Dunfee School and stole balls used for recreation, police said.

On May 9, Detective William Hetrick charged a 14-year-old Barnegat female and 9-year-old Barnegat male with fourth degree theft in connection with the theft of electrical wire from
the back yard of a Longboat Avenue residence.
The juveniles were identified with the help of witnesses who observed the theft.

Both juveniles were processed and released to their parents pending juvenile court.
The total value of the property stolen was approximately $300.

On May 1, Detective Michael Mitchell charged three Barnegat juveniles with burlgary, theft, and defiant trespass in connection with the theft of recreation equipment from a secured shed at the Lillian M. Dunfee school.
The theft, which occurred on April 17, 2012 involved the forced entry into a recreation shed and the removal of playground balls.
The three juvenile males, ages 15, 12, and 10 were processed and released to the custody of their parents pending juvenile court.
The stolen property was not recovered.
