Within an hour of posting photographs of two suspects on the Barnegat Police Department Facebook page, the department was able to identify them, according to a release from the department.

Lt. Keith Germain wrote in the release that the department received several tips from people who saw the pictures on Facebook, which led to the identification of the subjects pictured in the photos (see attached). Police allege the two pictured used a stolen debit card to purchase cigarettes and gas from township Wawas. The purchases were made on Nov. 3.

The investigation is continuing and further information will be released, according to Germain.
