Resident Faces Drug Possession, Intent to Distribute Charges

Rose Hill Road man had meth, cocaine, indictment states

A Barnegat man has been indicted on drug possession and distribution charges by an Ocean County grand jury.

Brooks C. Varner Jr. of Rose Hill Road was indicted Tuesday on two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance and two counts of possession with intent to distribute.

The indictment alleges Varner had less than a half-ounce each of methamphetamine and cocaine on him when arrested by Barnegat police on May 5.

Varner was initially held on $35,000 bail, which was posted the day of his arrest.
