Severe road flooding was reported by eyewitnesses.

Side streets near the causeway were flooded but accessible. The entry road to Ship Bottom was flooded with approximately two to two-and-a-half feet of water.

A long stream of traffic could be seen exiting Long Beach Island.

Emergency crews were reported by eyewitnesses to be on standby.

"We literally dodged a bullet," one resident said.
