Stafford Mayor to Copper Thieves: 'We Are Checking Everyone'

Council urges continued vigilance in Beach Haven West areas.

Stafford Mayor John Spodofora and Council members are urging continued vigilance on the part of Beach Haven West residents, as the area continues to be "sparsely populated" and a target for thieves.

"We still need your eyes and ears out there," Spodofora said during the Council meeting last night. "Report any suspicious activity you see in the neighborhood. There is also a neighborhood watch there, if you belong to it great, if not, I encourage you to join."

"There is nothing that takes the place of the vigilance of the people," Spodofora said. And he continued, "we are checking everyone. If anyone sees work being done that is at all questionable, please call. It's better to have a false alarm than have someone take a pipe out of someone's home."
