Stafford Police Arrest Point Beach Man On Traffic Warrant, Drug Charges


Stafford police recently arrested a Point Pleasant Beach man after they responded to a report of a threat at a Barracuda Road home.

Officer Jacob Conner and other officers answered the call at 12:30 p.m. on April 6. They found Geraldo Cartagena, 20, who was wanted on a $215 traffic warrant out of Brielle. He was arrested on the strength of the warrant, according to the police report.

Officers also found a small bag containing a green leafy substance suspected to be marijuana and a suspected marijuana smoking device in his possession, police said.

Cartagena was taken to police headquarters, where police also found a suspected Wellbutrin pill in Cartagena's possession that did not belong to him., along with suspected stolen gold earrings, according to the police report.

He was also charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance under 50 grams. He was processed and released, pending further investigation.
