Stafford Police Arrest Three In Connection With Thefts From Senior Community

Thefts took place while residents were displaced from their homes in January after pipes burst

A three-month investigation into thefts at the Stafford by the Bay Senior housing community has led to the arrest of a Manahawkin man and two Island Heights residents, police said.

Residents in the community were displaced from their homes on Jan. 8 when pipes burst for about a month, while repairs were made. When residents returned, they found that some of their valuable belongings had been stolen, police said.

Nine residents reported thefts to police. Stafford Detectives Levi McVey and John Morrin investigated anyone who had access to the building during the cleanup process.

The investigation paid off and resulted in the arrest of three temporary employes hired during the cleanup, police said.

Those arrested were:

• David Switalski Jr,  32,  Island Heights. He was charged with theft and dealing stolen property.,

• Danielle Kwityn, 32, Island Heights. She was charged with two counts of receiving stolen property.

• Richard Robertson Jr., 35, Manahawkin, three counts of theft.
