Stafford Police Charge Neptune Man With Drunk Driving

"Multiple" empty beer bottles found in Dodge Durango


Stafford police recently arrested a Neptune man for driving while intoxicated after a motor vehicle stop on Route 9 just south of Route 72, police said.

Officers made the stop when they witnessed a silver Dodge Durango failing to maintain its lane on the roadway. They found "multiple" empty beer bottles in the front passenger section of the vehicle.

Arrested was James Sharpe, 53. He was taken to police headquarters, where he was charged with multiple motor vehicle offenses, according to the police report.

Sharpe has a court appearance at 9 a.m. on April 25 in Stafford Township Municipal Court.
