Stafford Police Charge Virginia Man With Theft Of Bicycle From Library

Police located suspect and bike in less than an hour


Police recently arrested a Virginia man on theft charges after responding to a call about a bike stolen from the Ocean County Library on Route 9.

The call came in at 4:55 p.m. on Sept. 28. Police canvassed the area and quickly located Derek M. Muhl, 23, Winchester, VA, and a bike fitting the description of the stolen item at Bruno's Meat Market on Route 9, according to the police report.

Muhl was charged with theft and also had several outstanding warrants from Burlington County. He was handed over to Evesham Township police, who then transported him to the Burlington County Jail.

He has a court date at 1 p.m. on Oct. 11 in Stafford Township Municipal Court on the theft charge, police said.
