Three Arrested with Heroin on Residential Street

Narcotics investigators bust trio for possession, charge Barnegat man with distributing

Police arrested three men on heroin possession charges earlier this week, including a Barnegat man who was charged with distributing the drug.

On Tuesday, Nov. 15, members of the Barnegat Police Department's Narcotics unit encountered James Minarik, 32, of Barnegat, Jon Hammell, 32, of Manahawkin and Brandon Carroll, 24, of Waretown near Burr Street and Railroad Avenue, according to a police report.

Police deemed they were acting suspiciously, the report said, and in the ensuing investigation found that all three were in posession of heroin.

Minarik was charged with third-degree possession of heroin, third-degree distribution of heroin and third-degree posession of heroin with the intent to distribute.

Hammell and Carrol were each charged with third-degree possession of heroin.
