Tree Lighting This Weekend On LBI

Island welcomes a little holiday cheer after weeks of cleanup.

After Sandy, never have the lyrics to the popular carol been so true - Long Beach Island "needs a little Christmas now."

And so there will be, on Saturday, Dec. 1 as the Long Beach Township PBA 373 and the Township of Long Beach host a Christmas Tree Lighting at the Municipal Ball Field, 6805 Long Beach Boulevard at 4 p.m.

The event will feature guest appearances from Santa and Mrs. Claus, and will feature hot chocolate, coffee.

Children are asked to bring an ornament to hang on the tree.
