Two Severely Injured In Four-Car Crash On Route 72 In Stafford

Stafford police looking for witnesses to crash


Two people involved in a four-car crash on Route 72 recently were taken to the Atlantic City Trauma Center for treatment of severe injuries, police said.

The accident occurred on May 22 at 9:21 p.m. on Route 72 at Ivy Road.

Margaret Brenner, 59, Pennsylvania, was traveling east on Route 72 passing Ivy Road and Matthew Epinger, 20, Barnegat, was heading west on Route 72 when his car swerved into the eastbound lane and sideswiped Brenner's car, police said.

Brenner lost control of her car from the impact and crashed into a tree. impact  Epinger's car continued west in the eastbound lane and crashed head-on into a BMW driven by Ralph Rodak, 54, Pennsylvania, police said.

A Dodge Neon operated by Thomas Law, 54, of King of Prussia, Pa was traveling east on Route 72 and crashed into Epinger's vehicle, which was in the middle of the roadway, police said.

Law sustained minor injuries and refused medical treatment. Members of the Stafford Volunteer Fire Company extricated Rodak and Epinger from their cars

Rodak sustained a severe leg injury and was transported to Atlantic City Trauma Center. Rodak's passenger, Brittany Rodak, 24 sustained minor injuries and was transported to Southern Ocean Medical Center for treatment. Epinger sustained severe injury from the collision and was transported to Atlantic City Trauma Center, police said.

Route 72 was closed in both directions during the investigation for approximately 2 hours. The crash is currently under investigation by the Traffic Safety Unit. Any witnesses are asked to call 609-597-1189 ext. 8436
