Emergency responders were being proactive in Surf City Saturday evening, spreading the word about a mandatory evacuation for Long Beach Island in preparation for Hurricane Sandy.
The borough utilized fire trucks, ambulances and police cars outfitted with public address systems to announce the evacuation order.
